Is That Titan Or Utah
Pasadena CA (JPL) Mar 08, 2010
Planetary scientists have been puzzling for years over the honeycomb patterns and flat valleys with squiggly edges evident in radar images of Saturn's moon Titan. Now, working with a "volunteer researcher" who has put his own spin on data from NASA's Cassini spacecraft, they have found some recognizable analogies to a type of spectacular terrain on Earth known as karst topography. At a poster session on Thursday, March 4, at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in The Woodlands, Texas, displays th ... read more

NASA radar finds ice on moon's north pole
Washington (AFP) March 1, 2010
A US radar that launched into space aboard an Indian spacecraft has detected craters filled with ice on the moon's north pole, NASA scientists said Monday. Outside View: Military principles, politics
Helsinki, Finland (UPI) Feb 25, 2009
In my 29-year U.S. Army career I have met my share of lap-dog generals and Defense Department officials. I recently noticed that one prominent example was just promoted. Well done. The system worked. With some notable exceptions one does not rise to that level in the military without political acumen, risk awareness - if not risk aversion - and a "get-along-by-going-along" attitude. I often wonder why there are so few general officer resignations on principle. It is certainly true that the U. ... read more
