Envisat Monitoring Changes In Oil SpillParis, France (ESA) May 04, 2010 ESA's Envisat has captured the changes in direction of the rapidly-growing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as strong winds over the weekend pushed it around and hampered clean-up efforts. In these latest images, the oil spill is visible due east of the Delta National Wildlife Refuge extending into the Gulf. The white dots are oil rigs and ships. Wind can easily spread oil on the water, with the course determined by the wind's direction and speed. Following the explosion of the drilling rig o ... read more |

Tel Aviv, Israel (UPI) Apr 19, 2010 Israel is mulling the purchase of more Boeing F-15Is or Lockheed Martin F-16Is to fill the operational gap caused by the growing delays - and soaring price tag - of the ill-starred F-35 stealth fighter the air force wants to buy. "We have redeployed units to the south of France due to the closure of air space, to be able to ensure transport missions, patrols and policing of the skies", Major Frederic Solano told AFP.
