Iran targeted US radar and air defence installations in the Gulf on Tuesday, warning Washington of "more decisive and powerful" attacks to come as the conflict threatened to widen with a blockade of Saudi ports by Houthi rebels in Yemen.

- Kuwait blasts Iranian attacks -
Kuwait said Iran hit several power and water desalination plants Monday, causing fires in the fourth such attacks in as many days.
"In light of the continued Iranian heinous aggressions on the state of Kuwait, several electricity power plants and water distillation stations were subjected to attacks for the fourth day in a row resulting in fires in several facilities," the ministry of electricity, water and renewable energy said in a statement on X.
- Bahrain says intercepts Iran attacks -
Bahrain sounded sirens as the country's military had said it intercepted the latest of a spate of Iranian attacks on the Gulf kingdom.
"The siren has been sounded, Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place," the interior ministry said in a statement on X.
Jordan intercepts drones
The Jordanian military announced it had intercepted five Iranian drones, with Iran's Revolutionary Guards confirming the attack that they said targeted a "complex housing US terrorist forces in the region of Rukban".
US 'worldwide caution' alert
The US State Department on Monday issued an alert urging American citizens around the world to "exercise increased caution" because of the war with Iran.
"Americans outside the Middle East should reconsider travel to and through the region," it said, while warning of the heightened possibility of attacks targeting US diplomatic facilities "or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world."
Iran stops tankers in Hormuz
Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Tuesday they stopped two "non-compliant oil tankers" attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz, after "explosions caused extensive fires aboard them," state news agency IRNA reported.
US strikes
The US military said Monday it had completed a new round of strikes against Iran, targeting various sites to counter Tehran's ability to attack ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
"US forces struck Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz," US Central Command, CENTCOM, said in a post on X.
Strike on tanker
The UK maritime agency said that it "received multiple reports that a tanker... has been struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz," eight nautical miles (15 kilometres) northeast of Limah, Oman.
Houthis announce Saudi blockade
Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels announced a maritime embargo of Saudi Arabia, after the two adversaries traded fire last week for the first time in years.
The Houthis' naval blockade, if enforced, could further strain Saudi Arabia's economy by cutting off access to its Red Sea ports, which have been vital for oil exports redirected from the Strait of Hormuz.
UN warns of wider conflict
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric warned that the Houthi threat against Saudi Arabia "leads to the risk of an even wider regional escalation."
Saudi Arabia condemned the Houthi announcement. A foreign ministry statement said Riyadh "continues to support the brotherly Yemeni people and their legitimate government."
