Inauguration Of First DLR Ground Station In Canada
Inuvik, Canada (SPX) Aug 12, 2010
On 10 August 2010, the German Aerospace Center inaugurated its first satellite data receiving station in Inuvik, Canada. DLR will use the new ground station particularly to receive data for the German TanDEM-X satellite mission. Using the large, 13-metre antenna, partner countries Germany and Canada as well as scientists from around the world and other external users will be able to access important satellite data, process and evaluate them. The Mexican navy is equipping its CN-235 marine patrol aircraft with U.S. manufacturer Telephonics' APS-143C(V)3 radar as part of its refurbishment program. US to activate missile shield over southern Europe: report
Washington (AFP) July 31, 2010
The United States is close to activating a missile shield over southern Europe as part of its effort to shore up regional defenses in the face of a missile threat from Iran, The Washington Post reported late Saturday. Citing unnamed Pentagon officials, the newspaper said the US Defense Department is nearing a deal to establish a key radar ground station probably in Turkey or Bulgaria.
