A study published in Science, by researchers at Rothamsted Research (an institute of the BBSRC), the Met Office, the Natural Resources Institute, and the Universities of Exeter, Greenwich and York, sheds new light on the flight behaviours that enable insects to undertake long-distance migrations, and highlights the remarkable abilities of these insect migrants. N.Korea fires artillery near border for third day
Seoul (AFP) Jan 29, 2010
North Korea fired artillery into the sea near its disputed border with South Korea for a third straight day on Friday, Seoul's military said. In a four-hour morning period the communist state fired 20 shells which landed in North Korean waters off South Korea's Yeonpyeong island, a spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.
